Advancing Responsible AI through Coordination
Umbrella organization
Responsible AI Washington is becoming the primary organizational umbrella coordinating efforts and strengthening responsible AI researchers' and practitioners' collective impacts. We will convene responsible AI leaders and organizations across Washington State.
Forums and conferences
Our forums will generate new questions and conversations about responsible AI, and will platform exemplary cases of responsible AI in business, industry, and communities. Each of these forums will collectively prioritize Washington’s responsible AI needs and reassess where the state is, in terms of adoption, protection, innovation, and regulation. We will aim to hold these on an ad hoc basis as important topics emerge.
Conferences will showcase groundbreaking work being done in responsible AI, highlight pressing regulatory needs, and provide a venue for disseminating responsible AI research outcomes. Conferences will solicit presentations, materials, and speakers from across Washington State and beyond. We will aim to hold these annually, beginning in late 2026 or early 2027.
Speaker series
The speaker series will regularly connect practitioners, researchers, ethicists, policymakers, and regulators on a small scale. These speakers will be drawn from across North America. We will aim to hold these monthly, beginning in the second half of 2026.
